Only the background murmur of the river you whisper in the ears! Located near a small village is completely surrounded by green countryside. A lovely outdoor garden and a hearty breakfast awaits you in the morning and you will spend a pleasant stay with family.

The B&B can be both an ideal base to visit Florence or a starting point for hiking or walking and cycling in the Florentine countryside. The garden is a pleasant break after a day visiting monuments and museums. A few hundred meters guests have at their disposal, without having to use a car, an excellent restaurant, bar, pharmacy and various other shops, in addition to the movies. Availability of bicycles for walks or to Florence on the beautiful bike path on the banks of the Arno. The bus stop within 200 meters will allow you to reach the center of Florence, with departures every 15 minutes.

Room was clean and nice. Great view of the river. Breakfast was delicious. Claudio saved the day as we were leaving for Vernazza. Taxi went to the wrong side of the river. Very grateful. Property needed a little TLC. One of the property's cats left a present of poop on the steps to our room. I'm not sure Claudio understood me but 24 hours later the poop was still there.

I recommend this B&B for the following reasons: the quality of the welcome and the spirit of conviviality shown by Monsieur Claudio, makes us feel like we are staying with a friend. His mill is an oasis of peace and charm on the banks of the Arno. The proximity to the bus line allows us to reach the heart of Florence in 30 minutes without worrying about parking issues. The breakfast is very generous and caters to all tastes. The host speaks French perfectly, knows how to share with us the love for his region. He gives very good advice on places not to be missed. We had a very pleasant stay. Thanks again.

The property is located in a very beautiful and quiet location on the Arno, our room was quite large with a nice bathroom (Salcio room). Claudio is a laid-back guy and takes everything easy. He prepared a great breakfast for us. You can easily reach Florence by bus. The pool is a bit small, but it's enough to cool off.

This B&B La Martellina was a real find. An old mill renovated with love and taste. Not a great luxury but very cozy and clean. The large garden by the Arno river is perfect for relaxing and spending time. Particularly noteworthy is the breakfast served in the garden. There were many Tuscan delicacies, in addition to the usual items like bread, croissants, cereals, etc. The host is very friendly and speaks English very well.

La Martellina is strategically located for those who want to move around by bicycle and is connected to Florence by the cycle path along the Arno river. In the structure there are cats and a large dog, peaceful but they make the stay not suitable for those who do not like or are afraid of these animals. The cleanliness of the common areas is not up to standard: as soon as we arrived at the house there were animal excrements, it was not possible to use the pool (full of leaves and with murky water) and the garden is unfortunately neglected, with hammocks and deck chairs stained and ruined. The main problem in terms of cleanliness was the towels: they looked old, greyed, and there were hairs and orange stains present (like rust). After requesting a change, the situation did not improve, indeed. The Salcio Tower is very particular, it deserves a one-night stay because it feels like sleeping in a castle tower: it is not very comfortable to reach but extremely scenic and, fortunately, it is equipped with air conditioning. The continental buffet breakfast is very varied and well cared for, especially in the savory part, and was served outdoors at a communal table. Overall, the structure has potential, it just needs more care and attention.

Place well served by buses direct to the center of Florence, very suggestive both the interiors and the external view directly on the Arno, good breakfast and well cleaned rooms, I recommend maybe a stay also in the nice season to better enjoy the outdoor spaces, which at the end of the year period rightly do not give their best.

The B&B is located along the Arno only 5 Km south of Florence off the state highway to Arezzo. It is suitable both as an ideal base for visiting Florence or as starting point for exursions by car, trekking or walks and bicylce rides in the Florentine or Tuscan countryside. Bicycles are available. The large garden is a pleasant and peaceful spot for relaxing, lulled by the murmur of the Arno, after a day spent visiting monuments and museums. The village within walking distance (a few hundred meters) offers an excellent restaurant for dining, a bar, a pharmacy and other stores as well as a cinema. Bikes rent available.

To reach La Martellina:
• From SM Novella train station in Florence: with bus 14A towards Girona in 20 minutes, the stop is 200 mt from the Bed and Breakfast.
• From Florence airport: the shuttle to the station and after 25 minutes by bus.
• From the motorway A1 Milan - Rome: take the exit Firenze Sud, then he must walk the ramp and after 3 km of state road in direction Pontassieve.
