We stayed here for three nights in June. We had travelled from Rome to Elba with our adult son to celebrate my Aunt's 80th birthday. We very much enjoyed our stay at B&B Porta del mare. Rossella and Bruno were wonderful hosts. We found the apartment charming. The decor is very fresh, clean and stylish. We had fabulous views from our bedrooms. There is some night time noise from the Square below but we enjoyed being in the centre of the Port area. We will definitely stay again next time we visit Isola d'Elba.

My husband and I stayed for a week in June in "Grecale". It is a spacious, comfortable room with a fantastic view over the harbor and sea. The en suite shower is larger than many we have used in Italy. The room was spotlessly clean and there were regular changes of towels. The building is in one of the main squares in the main town of Elba so lots of choice of restaurants, cafes and bars. It is about 10 minutes' walk to the ferry terminal and the main bus station, and there is an excellent bus service all over the island. The bars in the square below play music quite late on Saturday night but being 4 floors up did not affect our sleep. Rossella and Bruno are charming hosts with excellent recommendations for dinner and information about Elba. Highly recommended.

The location in Ferrraio, the capital of Elba, is the very best, on the square at the gate to the old town. As the BnB is four flight of stairs up without lift you get up over the roofs in front of you and from two of the rooms you have a splendid view over the square, the idyllic harbour, the sea and the mountains in the distance. From two of the three rooms. The host will carry your luggage all the steps up and down. Beside, the host couple is most charming and helpful you can imagine, and they give you advice for tours, restaurants and everything else. The decoration is simple, tasty, light and Tuscan. We had four days of super holiday here.

Rossella and Bruno were wonderful. Bruno insisted on carrying our large suitcases the four floors of stairs to the rooms, which was much appreciated. The accommodations were fine - clean and welcoming. I felt bad that I could not communicate with Rossella, but I believe she understood how appreciative we were of their efforts. The recommended restaurants had food that was delicious and well prepared, and the location was in the heart of the main square. We would highly recommend this B&B to all.

Rooms lovingly decorated, bright (and modern), you can tell that the owners have put thought into it. View of the Torre del Martello and the harbor. Renovated bathroom. Everything super clean. My window (Scirocco room) faced directly onto Piazza Cavour, but being on the 4th floor, the noise is limited. For me, the sounds from the square were like 'hearing Italy on vacation', and at night it was quiet. The B&B owners are super nice and helpful, I felt welcome from the beginning. In the café on the other side of the square, there was a delicious breakfast and plenty to watch. All in all, I felt very comfortable and would stay there again anytime.

Rossella's property is located in the main square of Portoferraio, a starting point to reach the seafront, numerous bars and restaurants, as well as some of the most beautiful beaches of Elba. If you want to move around by public transport, the bus stop is a 2-minute walk away. Impeccable cleanliness and a relaxing environment that is taken care of in every detail. Rossella was a perfect hostess: welcoming and always available to provide any information. I highly recommend it.

Happy return. For our first stay on Elba, we decide to return as guests of Rossella, whom we had met in Camogli, at her previous B&B. We had no doubts that the Porta del Mare would remain in our hearts; the rooms are meticulously cared for, the cleanliness is impeccable, the view of the sea from the dock is spectacular... but the strength of this dwelling is the welcome and attention that Rossella reserves for her guests. Do not be intimidated by the four flights of stairs, come and you will feel at home, it's worth it!

I had the pleasure of staying at B&B Porta del Mare from August 21st to 28th, 2021, in the Maestrale room. The choice of this location proved to be crucial in making what, looking back, was an exceptional vacation. The central location, where it is located, makes it easy to enjoy everything the Island offers: the best beaches (reachable by a free shuttle or a maximum of 15 minutes by car), excellent restaurants, and numerous other services you might need (a small grocery store, a bookstore, a pharmacy, a cash point). The breakfast bars are right under the building and offer a good menu (one, in particular, at affordable prices), so the fact that breakfast is not included, I believe, is a false issue. Despite being on the main square, the B&B is extremely quiet: nighttime rest is guaranteed, as well as tranquility in general. The cleanliness is very accurate, and the change of towels and sheets takes place on time, every two days. Air conditioning is not necessary: the Elba's wind currents do their "natural" cooling job well; if needed, a fan will do the rest. But let's get to the point: Rossella, who skillfully manages the B&B, is capable of a discreet and warm welcome at the same time. She will suggest, as one would do to a dear person, the best places to go for dinner, the various types of beaches, and, above all, she will help you understand how to best enjoy the Island based on the needs you express. Here: what I have just said is what made my vacation not just good, but exceptional. Here empathy and education are at home.

We stayed here in the last week of July, despite the heat we were fine as the room was well-ventilated and the B&B has well-furnished and clean rooms. Rossella manages the B&B and was immediately very helpful and kind in indicating the parking and the places to visit. The location is central and you can reach both the historic center and the beaches of Portoferraio on foot. Recommended especially for couples because you can enjoy tranquility and in the evening you can go out on foot. I also recommend the bar below the B&B run by two very kind gentlemen with a beautiful little cat. We were very satisfied and happy with this stay.

If only one could give a higher score than 10! Everything simply perfect. The rooms are located on the fourth floor and you have no idea of the spectacular view in front of you! My boyfriend and I spent New Year's Eve here and seeing the fireworks from the window of our room was the cherry on top! Regarding the structure, impeccable cleanliness of both the rooms and the bathroom; it may be on the fourth floor and without an elevator, but I assure you it's worth it. Last but not least, the welcome: Bruno and Rossella are always super helpful, very friendly and kind, they really made us feel at home. More than recommended.

The two '9s' for the structure and for the breakfast are only because the B&B Porta del mare is on the 4th floor without an elevator (it might discourage someone but Bruno and Rossella help you carry your luggage up and down!) and because breakfast is at the bar (if they made it themselves it would be magnificent given the impeccable care they have in the rest, but I understand that it is demanding and requires space). However, I stayed in the Maestrale room: beautiful, furnished with great care and style, complete private bathroom. Very attentive to cleanliness, the rooms are redone every day. This room does not have a sea view but, even though it is in the historic center, it is quiet and peaceful. The mini fridge is also very convenient. The B&B Porta del mare is centrally located and very convenient. The added value is Rossella and Bruno who welcome you into their home and make themselves completely available with advice and information. Great availability, attention, and courtesy.

We stayed my wife and I at the B&B Porta del mare from the 19th to the 26th of August. It is located on the fourth floor of a building in the historic center of Portoferraio. We were promptly helped by the very kind managers in carrying our luggage to the room. Arrived in our room, the "Grecale", we were immediately struck by the order, cleanliness, and style with which it was furnished; as well as the splendid view of the sea and the tourist harbor. Room cleaning was carried out every day, with extreme care and attention. The bathroom is spacious, always clean, with a huge shower and equipped with everything necessary for personal hygiene. Breakfast, free, is served in an affiliated bar with comfortable tables overlooking the marina. The strong point is represented by the managers Rossella and Bruno, affable, available people who pay great attention to their customers. When it was time to leave, we no longer felt like customers, but we felt like "guests at friends' house". All made possible thanks to the passion of Bruno and Rossella and the desire to share their spaces with strangers who will eventually feel at home. Thank you very much, Fabio and Ivana from Modena.

We have recently returned from our first visit to Elba, short but very satisfying. We stayed at B&B Porta del mare in Portoferraio from 18 to 25 July. The location of the property is excellent for those who want to have a “base” from which to plan the itinerary for discovering the island: the B&B is right in the center of Portoferraio, near the marina, in a historic building. The only "flaw", known in advance before confirming the reservation, is the location of the property, on the 4th floor of the building, without an elevator; this fact could initially discourage, but in the end it allowed us to get some healthy exercise and enjoy a beautiful view. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean, tastefully and simply furnished at the same time. They do not have air conditioning but are equipped with a fan, which we promptly used on a couple of particularly humid evenings. The owners have always been discreet, kind, and caring towards us, they helped us with moving luggage and even engaged in conversation to give useful advice on which beaches to visit depending on the winds and where to eat. With their care, we felt like real "guests at home" and not customers. An important recommendation: the B&B is inside the ZTL, so be careful! It is possible to request a temporary permit associated with the license plate of your car or the vehicle possibly rented.

A beautiful apartment in the historic center of Portoferraio, clean and carefully maintained with grace and elegance by its owners who, as in a real B&B, live in it. There are 3 rooms with dedicated bathrooms for guests, all 3 romantic, bright, comfortable, and spacious: 2 overlook Piazza Cavour, the port, and the sea, 1 overlooks the alleys of the historic center and the fortress. It's a pleasure to open the window. The rooms are all 3 beautiful, regardless. Parquet flooring throughout the house, white walls, books. A good scent and a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Rossella and Bruno have gestures of respect; for example, they open and close the shutters of the house throughout the day, depending on the wind and how the sun turns, so that when guests return, they always find the house fresh. I particularly appreciated this care, and I hope they receive kindness and gratitude from the guests to whom they open the doors of their home, but above all of their lives. The prices are fair, even in August. But the island deserves a stay especially outside the summer months. Recommended.

Located centrally, once you reach the floor, you notice even before opening the door, the meticulousness of the green corner. Small fragrant plants that adorn the entrance. The wonder happens once you open the window: the blue of the sea and the sky blend together framing the view. Gentili Marco e Angelina, leggiamo con rammarico che alcuni aspetti del soggiorno presso la “Porta del Mare” hanno disatteso le vostre aspettative. Pur sapendo che non possiamo soddisfare le esigenze di tutti i nostri ospiti, per la prima volta in sei anni (ma si sa, ce n’è sempre una!) ci troviamo con un po’ di imbarazzo a rispondere dell’assenza di un bidet: come avrete notato, date le dimensioni del bagno siamo stati costretti a “ripiegare” su di una doccetta bidet del tipo solitamente utilizzato nella nautica, crediamo perciò pratica e funzionale, almeno per tutti coloro i quali hanno goduto fino ad oggi della camera “Grecale” (non sempre a 65 Euro a notte, però…). Registriamo anche la vostra lamentela circa gli asciugamani “graffianti” che avete comunque portato con voi in giro per l’isola. Senza dircelo. O senza chiedere un altro paio di asciugamani in cambio, magari. Di solito a chi è sprovvisto di teli mare li forniamo noi. Ospitiamo le persone nello stesso spazio in cui viviamo, e crediamo fortemente nella comunicazione, basata sempre sul reciproco rispetto. Per nostra abitudine e correttezza invece, nella nostra del 16 Aprile eravate stati informati del piano -più o meno ripido, a seconda dei punti di vista- al quale ci troviamo. Vi ringraziamo comunque per averci scelto, e dato l’opportunità di ricordare a noi stessi e ai nostri ospiti quali siano i limiti di una struttura a conduzione familiare (le nostre 4 braccia!), con pochi mezzi ma tanta buona volontà. I stayed at the B&B Porta del Mare alone for two nights in the 'Scirocco' room. Excellent location as it can be reached in a few minutes by car if you arrive on the island by ferry. In the center of Portoferraio, it is very convenient for visiting the city, the port, the castle, and some nearby beaches on foot. The atmosphere is very welcoming and you immediately feel at ease as it should be when staying in B&Bs. Excellent cleanliness of the rooms. The furnishings have been chosen with great care and the details do not go unnoticed. From the 'Scirocco' room, you can enjoy the view of the port and the Martello Tower. The owners Bruno and Rossella are fantastic, friendly, and helpful people. They put passion into what they do, and this can only provide excellent service to customers. I highly recommend it and will definitely choose this B&B again if I were to return to the island of Elba.

There are times when the journey becomes an experience and the encounters become travel memories. Simply perfect my stay at B&B Porta del Mare, excellent location, cleanliness, and the setting made up of bars and Elbanians, sea, fishermen, and shops. But meeting Bruno and Rossella was an unexpected gift, not only kindness, hospitality, and discretion, but also a new friendship that will remain in the heart alongside the promise of meeting again.

We stayed at this B&B Porta del Mare just this week and I must say I couldn't have made a better choice. Rossella and Bruno (the managers) are two fantastic people: they immediately make you feel at ease, help you with your luggage (I challenge other hotels/B&Bs to do it without having to tip), give you directions to the best beaches and offer coupons with a 10% discount at fabulous restaurants like "D Gianni", "Acqua Cheta", "La Cisterna" and others. The rooms are very nice, the bed very comfortable (and I assure you I'm picky about that); they clean every day and leave the rooms impeccable, clean and sanitized. It's nice to stop and chat with them because if you need anything they are always available, ready to laugh with you and help you. The location is strategic because you are close to the port where you disembark with the ferry, to shops, to the "Crai" supermarket, to many places to have a good aperitif, to the "Le Viste" beach, to many restaurants/pizzerias and from there you can reach other cities and/or beaches. If you need to choose a B&B this is the best one. My boyfriend and I had a good time and you will see that you won't regret it.

I spent a week in August at this B&B with my girlfriend and we had a great time. The owners, Rossella and Bruno, were very kind and welcoming from the start, they helped us with our luggage both on arrival and departure, they gave us excellent suggestions on pizzerias and restaurants in the area, all great places in terms of quality, prices, and services. B&B Porta del Mare is located in the historic center of Portoferraio, in Piazza Cavour, on the fourth floor of a historic 19th-century building. We were in the Maestrale room, from which you can admire the picturesque view of the roofs of Portoferraio on one side, and Forte Falcone on the other; very clean room with private bathroom, minibar, TV, and fan. In terms of location, it's very convenient to reach the beaches of Le Viste, Le Ghiaie, Padulella, and Capo Bianco on foot, while for the more distant beaches, you can easily get there by bus, as the bus stop is a stone's throw away from the B&B. What can I say, personally I am very happy to have stayed at B&B Porta del Mare, to have met two lovely people like Rossella and Bruno, and to have visited a fantastic island like Elba!

Perfect location, at the center of every convenience and close to the most beautiful beaches. The place is fresh, clean, and you can feel the scent of the sea. The owners are welcoming, friendly, and give you many tips on how to move around: restaurants, beaches, places. In short, not to be missed.

Arriving at the B&B Porta del mare was like stepping into a small ancient world filled with scents and atmospheres of other times. The rooms are spacious and bright, the Maestrale where we stayed is perhaps the coolest with a large ceiling with exposed beams. From the other two rooms there is a stunning sea view. Everything is extremely clean and well cared for. A special thanks to Rossella and Bruno for their availability and kindness.

The rooms facing the square are full of light and convey the liveliness of the historic center, while the master bedroom overlooks the old rooftops. To reach them, you have to climb quite a few stairs, but you are rewarded with a very pleasant atmosphere and the welcoming courtesy of the two friendly hosts, always available for useful advice and information. The cleanliness of the premises is very well taken care of. The B&B Porta del mare is strategically located to reach the beaches and enjoy the evening Mediterranean life.

We set off with a bit of doubt, fearing that the location of the B&B Porta del mare would be uncomfortable both for parking and as a starting point for visiting the island. Well, after staying there for 10 nights, we can say that if we were to return to Elba, the B&B Porta del mare would be our first choice. The room (Grecale) was beautiful, very clean and well-kept, with a sea view. The owners were available and welcoming without ever being intrusive. Parking is 50 meters away (paid from 8 am to 8 pm but with reasonable rates), and above all, it is a maximum of 10 minutes by car from the best beaches on the island for us. Being in the historic center, there is only the embarrassment of choice for quick lunches and dinners with some excellent affiliated local restaurants. Breakfast is at a bar right in front of the B&B building. It is a classic Italian breakfast, but for us who are not big eaters in the morning, it was perfect.
