B&B La Fornace di Racciano is set in the verdant hills surrounding San Gimignano, 2, 8Km from the historical centre of the medieval town and its famous towers, in a traditional Tuscan country house. La Fornace di Racciano consists of seven comfortable rooms and three apartments.

This lovely Bed&Breakfast offers:
- Delightful tasting of local products such as DOP ham, salami and pecorino cheese of San Gimignano, bruschetta seasoned with the excellent extra-virgin olive oil and the typical wines of San Gimignano, Chianti and Vernaccia;
- A lovely swimming pool, with a spacious sun terrace equipped with sunbeds, tables and chairs, where guests can lazily relax breathing the atmosphere of the peaceful Tuscan countryside;
- A large flowery garden with an equipped area for children with swing, slide, ping pong and a funny children playhouse;
- Useful information to visit the main historical, artistic, environmental sights, and suggestions to purchase "original Tuscan products". For the most extrovert ones, it is possible to organize balloon tours and many more activities to discover on spot.

We had already visited 4 years ago and we absolutely wanted to come back because we had really enjoyed it. Again this year everything was perfect: the welcoming of the staff and their kindness, the beauty of the house and the landscape, the quality of the breakfast, the pleasure of the pool and its sunbeds, etc. A big thank you to Cristiano and Viviana for everything. We hope to come back a 3rd time to visit the Chianti wineries that we have not yet seen. In San Gimignano, a magical city, we recommend the restaurant Fuori Porta where the food is particularly good. Thanks again.

A short stop at La Fornace for the end of our holidays in Italy. Magnificent place in Tuscany, with a pool and a top breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

In the peaceful countryside just outside San Gimignano, a quiet and welcoming accommodation. The managers are helpful and very attentive. Large and clean room. Outdoor space and pool well-kept and well-organized. Abundant breakfast with local offerings. Excellent value for money.

We stayed a few days ago at the La Fornace di Racciano property. We were greeted by the hosts with a coffee and fresh water, given the extremely hot day. We immediately noticed the beauty of the property and the magnificent view of San Gimignano. The hosts are very friendly and had no problem welcoming our dog, a large Alaskan Malamute. The homemade cakes and typical products offered for breakfast are of excellent quality and truly tasty. The location is excellent for us, just a few kilometers from San Gimignano and immersed in the hills. In the evening, you can admire the landscape of the illuminated towers and a magnificent starry sky. I thank and warmly greet the hosts and all the staff.

A welcoming, smiling and very helpful team, people with hospitality in their hearts! A warm place where nature meets comfort without making the heartbeat at 300, simply welcoming the soul and rocking it a bit and when you want to leave, the town is easily reachable in two steps.

We stayed at this very romantic and suggestive B&B. From our room, we could enjoy a postcard view of San Gimignano. The management was excellent and the collaboration of the staff was always available for any information. I recommend everyone to stay there.

Area Campagna

B&B "La Fornace di Racciano" is just 2, 8Km from the historical centre of San Gimignano, a town of ancient Etruscan origins that knew its higher splendour in Medieval times. The town is set along the historical Via Francigena, an ancient road followed by multitudes of merchants and pilgrims; today is still possible to walk on the original ballast for some stretches.
The medieval town, with its unique towers, is a real treasure and it is listed in the UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage.

The town features many important historical and artistic monuments such as the Romanic Duomo, the Convent of Saint Agostino, the Town Hall Palace, and historical and modern museums.
For those who are fond of Tuscan products such as wine and extra-virgin olive oil, there is a large choice; the region is rich of wine cellars which offer wine tasting and tours, and in San Gimignano there is an interesting Museum of Wine where you can taste the best wines of the region, whilst enjoying the breathtaking landscape of the Tuscan countryside.

The most prized art towns of Tuscany are within easy driving distance: Florence (45 Km), Sienna (35 Km), and many hilltop villages such as Colle di Val D'Elsa (10 Km), Certaldo, Monteriggioni (25 Km), Castellina in Chianti (30 Km), and Volterra (25 Km).
Other beautiful destinations can be visited with a day out to explore the landscaped rural areas in the district of Siena, such as the region of Chianti Classico, 30Km away, and of Crete Senesi, with the beautiful Abbey Monte Oliveto Maggiore (40 Km). Further afield, south of Siena, are Montalcino, Pienza and Montepulciano, 90km away. The Tyrrhenian Coast, with its beautiful sandy beaches bordered by pine trees, is just one hour's drive (80 Km).

For leisurely walks in the unspoilt Tuscan countryside, there are many marked trails up and down the hills, through the vineyards, the olive groves and the woodland.
